Shipping
How much is shipping?
Right now shipping is free on marketplace prints and on prints you upload yourself — we're covering it, so you won't see a shipping charge at checkout. Prints ship within the US (including AK, HI, PR, and APO/FPO addresses), and we choose the carrier per shipment. Pro accounts are the one exception: pro orders are quoted freight as its own line.
Do pro accounts pay for shipping?
Yes. Pro pricing is wholesale, so freight is always quoted as its own line. Your pricing page shows an estimate for each size rated to your ZIP, and checkout prices the real shipment from the full address — which often comes out lower, because several pieces travel together. Stretched canvases share a box, and rolled prints share a tube: up to ten prints go in one tube, or five if any of them are larger than 24×36. Metal prints ship direct from our metal partner, so there's no freight line on those.
How long does delivery take?
Prints are made to order and ship in about 5–7 business days. Once your order ships you'll get an email with a tracking link, and you can follow it any time from the Track Order page.
Where do you ship?
We currently ship within the United States only, including Alaska, Hawaii, Puerto Rico, and APO/FPO military addresses. International shipping isn't available yet.
When will my order ship?
Every print is made to order and ships in about 5–7 business days. You'll get an email with a tracking link as soon as it's on its way, and you can follow it anytime from the Track Order page.
Can I track my order?
Yes. Once your order ships you'll get an email with a tracking link. You can also open the Track Order page anytime to see your order's status and tracking.
Orders & shipping
Can I order several prints at once?
Yes — drop all your photos on the uploader at once and you'll get a row for each one, where you set the material, size, finish and quantity individually. It's one checkout and one order, and they travel together, so it's less shipping than ordering them one at a time. Pro accounts see their pro pricing on every row automatically.
Can I cancel my order?
Yes — while your order still shows "In print prep", you can cancel it yourself from Your account (the same page where you track orders). You get a full refund: print, shipping, and tax. Once it's gone to press we've already made your canvas, so cancellation closes — but reply to your order email and we'll always see what we can do.
Can I include a gift message or a note with my order?
Yes — at checkout there's an "Include a message" box. Whatever you write is printed on the packing slip that goes in the box (great for gifts — we never print prices on the slip), and our print team reads it too, so it's also the place for a short note like a delivery preference or anything you want us to know about the piece. Keep it under 255 characters. Forgot to add one, or want to change it? Reply to your order confirmation email and we can add or edit it for you — as long as your order hasn't shipped yet.
Print quality
What are the prints made of?
Every print is produced by CanvasFab. You can choose canvas (gallery-wrapped), premium poster (framed/matted), or metal (frame-mounted aluminum). We check every image against the print size so it comes out gallery-sharp.
Will my photo be sharp enough to print?
We check the resolution of your image against the size you pick and tell you the largest size that stays gallery-sharp — no guessing. If a size would look soft, we flag it before you buy.
What's the difference between canvas, poster, and metal?
Canvas is gallery-wrapped and stretched over solid wood — our specialty, and archival latex-printed to last. Poster is a premium flat paper print with framing and matting options. Metal is a vivid, frame-mounted aluminum print. If you're unsure, canvas is the most popular choice and what we do best.
Is the first number the width or the height?
The first number is always the WIDTH, and the second is the height. So a 24x36 portrait print is 24 inches wide and 36 inches tall, while a 36x24 landscape print is 36 inches wide and 24 inches tall — same two numbers, different orientation. If you're measuring a wall, measure across first, then up. And if a size ever arrives in a different shape than you pictured, tell us — we'll make it right, whether the mix-up was on your end or ours.
What sizes do you offer?
Prints from our creators come in 8x12, 16x24, and 24x36 (a true 2:3 shape), plus 24x24 squares — 8x12 on canvas and metal. Printing your OWN photo (our /create uploader) opens up the full canvas range: 2:3, 3:4, 4:5, and 5:6 shapes from 8x12 up to 36x48, squares from 12x12 to 40x40, and 2:1 panoramics up to 24x48 — all with free shipping. And you're not locked to your photo's shape: pick a different shape and we auto-crop it, or choose 'keep my whole photo' and we print it at its exact proportions, nothing cropped away — even unusual ones. Only pieces bigger than our standard range are quoted individually.
Are your canvas prints good quality? How long do they last?
Yes — we've been making archival, museum-grade canvas prints since 2014, and we have customers with prints still going strong 10+ years later. Every canvas is stretched over solid wood with reinforcing bars, so it's built to last.
What are your most standard sizes?
Most people land on one of five. For a normal portrait or landscape shape: 12x16 (small), 16x24 (medium — our most popular by a wide margin) and 24x36 (large). For a square, 24x24. For a panoramic, 20x40. Those are marked right on the pricing page so you can see them at a glance. They're the sizes we print most, they suit most walls, and standard frames are easy to find for them if you're framing yourself. You are absolutely not limited to them though — canvas goes up to 36x48 in the catalog and we can print any whole-inch custom size up to 50x110.
Do you offer framing?
Canvas prints are gallery-wrapped and ready to hang as-is (no frame needed). Poster prints can be framed and matted. If you have a specific framing need, reach out and we'll help.
Can you print really large or a custom size?
Yes — we print custom and oversize pieces well beyond the standard sizes. Very large pieces are quoted per project (and if you're local, we can often deliver or arrange pickup to save on freight). Contact us with your size and we'll put together a quote.
How does it actually work — what happens to my photo?
Three steps, and the middle one is a person. You upload a photo and pick the shape and size — we show you the largest size your file can print sharp as you go. Then a real person checks the file before anything prints: we enlarge it in-house when it's a little short, and if it genuinely won't hold up we pause the order and email you the reason rather than printing something disappointing. Then we make it in our Miami studio — printed with latex inks cured into the material, stretched over 1.5-inch wood bars (or rolled in a tube if you'd rather frame it yourself) — and ship it in about 5-7 business days with tracking. There's a full walkthrough, including how big a phone photo can print, at canvasfab.app/how-it-works.
Returns
What if my print arrives damaged or wrong?
If anything arrives damaged, defective, or not what you ordered, open the Track Order page for that order and file an issue with a photo — we'll make it right with a replacement or refund. Studio covers replacement shipping.
Can I get a refund?
Yes — if there's a problem with your order (damage, defect, or the wrong item), report it from the Track Order page and we'll review it for a refund or replacement. Studio has final say on resolutions.
What if I ordered the wrong size or changed my mind?
If it's not a quality problem, you can request a return within 7 days — the item needs to come back in its original condition and return shipping is covered by you, with a refund issued after we inspect it. If the print arrived damaged, defective, or wrong, that's on us instead — see our damage/defect help and we'll make it right at no cost to you.
My canvas looks slightly different than my screen — is that a defect?
Small variations in color, brightness, canvas texture, and hand-trimming are normal for a handmade printed product and aren't defects. But a canvas that's poorly stretched or noticeably sagging is a real defect — report it from the Track Order page and we'll replace it.
How do you handle damaged prints — do I have to ship it back?
For a damaged, defective, or wrong item you do NOT need to ship anything back — just report it from the Track Order page with a photo, and we'll send a free replacement (we cover the shipping) or issue a refund. Please report within 7 days of delivery.
Privacy
Is my photo private?
Yes. Photos you upload to print your own work stay private to your order — they're only used to make and ship your print, never shown publicly or sold. We keep them for a limited window after delivery in case you need a reprint, then remove them.
Do you sell my personal information?
No. You can also opt out of ad tracking any time from the "Do Not Sell or Share" link in the footer. We only use your email to fulfill your order and, if you opt in at checkout, to let you know about new work.
Can I ask you to delete my personal data?
Yes. You can request deletion of your personal data even if you checked out as a guest — just contact us with enough order info to verify it's you (name, email, order number). Privacy requests go to legal@canvasfab.com.
Products & materials
Can I get my canvas rolled instead of stretched?
Yes — when you print your own photo you can choose how it's finished. "Ready to hang" is our gallery-wrapped canvas: stretched over 1.5-inch solid wood bars, wired, ready for the wall the day it lands. "Rolled in a tube" is the same printed canvas, unstretched and shipped rolled — for framing it yourself, taking it to your own framer, or travelling with it. Rolled costs noticeably less because there's no wood, no stretching and no assembly (a 24x36 is $139 rolled vs $249 ready-to-hang). Both are the same canvas, the same inks, and both ship free.
What happens to the edges of a gallery-wrapped canvas?
You choose. On a ready-to-hang canvas the image wraps around 1.5-inch sides, and you pick how those sides look: Mirrored (the default — the edge reflects your photo, so nothing is lost from the front), Photo continues (your image carries around the sides, so roughly 1.5 inches wraps out of view), a clean White border, a deep Black border, or a Custom colour you pick yourself. Mirrored is the safe choice if your subject sits close to the edge. Rolled canvas has no wrap, so there's no edge choice to make.
How does fine-art paper ship?
Fine-art paper prints ship rolled in a protective tube — ready for you to frame yourself or take to your framer. We offer paper in the same sizes as canvas (up to 36x48), in Photo gloss or Archival matte. We don't sell framed paper prints yet; that's coming after launch.
What makes your prints durable?
We print with latex technology, which makes our prints scratch-resistant and water-resistant — the inks are cured into the material rather than sitting on top of it. That means your print holds up to everyday life without needing glass or lamination.
Pricing & payouts
Why is there sales tax on my order?
Orders shipping to Florida are charged Florida sales tax (6% state plus your county's local surtax), calculated automatically at checkout from your shipping address — we're a Florida business and collect it as required by law. Orders shipping to other states aren't charged sales tax at this time. The tax amount is always shown at checkout before you pay.
Do you offer wholesale or pro pricing for photographers and artists?
Yes! If you're a photographer, artist, designer, or studio who prints regularly, you can apply for a CanvasFab pro account and get our wholesale pricing on hand-made, archival prints — you handle the framing and the client, we handle the printing. Apply at canvasfab.com/pro; we review applications by hand and email you when you're approved. After that, just sign in at our uploader with the same email and your pro pricing shows up automatically — no codes. Applied before, through our older site? If you signed up for a pro account with us at some point in the past, there's a good chance it's still active — sign in with the email you used and your pricing should appear. If it doesn't, or that email address has changed, just get in touch and we'll sort it out. Once you're approved, your own pricing guide lives at canvasfab.com/pro/pricing — sign in and you'll see your pro price for every size and surface, what the same piece costs without a pro account, and a place to set your own client pricing (it saves automatically, and there's a custom-size calculator for commissions). Your pricing page also marks our most standard sizes (12x16, 16x24, 24x36, plus 24x24 square and 20x40 panoramic), so you can see at a glance what most people order.
How it works
How do I buy a print?
Open any creator's storefront, pick a print, preview it to scale on a wall, choose your substrate and size, and check out as a guest — no account needed. You'll get an email receipt and a tracking link.
Do I need an account to buy?
No — you can check out as a guest. You'll get an email receipt and a tracking link, and you can follow your order from the Track Order page without ever creating an account.
Who actually makes and ships my print?
Every order is printed and shipped by CanvasFab — the same print shop behind the platform, printing since 2014. You're buying from Studio, so if anything comes up, you contact us (not the individual photographer) and we take care of it.
Whose artwork is in the CanvasFab art shop?
The CanvasFab art shop features our own curated art catalog, printed on the same museum-grade materials we've used since 2014. If you're looking to sell your own work, that's our Studio platform; to print your own photo, that's our uploader.
Your account
Why do I get a sign-in link instead of a password?
Because you never have to make one, remember it, or reset it. Enter your email and we send a link that signs you in — clicking it proves the inbox is yours, which is the same thing a password proves, without anything to forget. It also means your orders, saved photos and pricing follow your email address everywhere on our site. The link is single-use and expires shortly after we send it, so it is safe to request a fresh one any time. Check your spam folder if it has not arrived within a minute or two.
How do I stop getting reminder or promotional emails?
Every reminder or promotional email has an unsubscribe link at the bottom — one click and we'll stop sending them. You'll still get essential messages about any order you place (confirmation, shipping). You can also just reply and ask us to remove you.
